Inclement Weather

Inclement Weather policy

To our membership:

When the Syracuse School District closes, or opens late, our church will be closed until our parking lots, walks, and entrances are snow and ice free, and the roads are safe.
When the state of New York declares a state of emergency and issues a travel ban for Onondaga county, our church building will be closed while the travel emergency is in place, and until our parking lots, walks, and entrances are snow and ice free.
If weather conditions suggest that it may be unsafe to allow Sunday worship service, a joint decision will be made by the Pastor and Clerk of Session to send an email notification on Saturday to members warning of a potential cancellation as well as a Zoom link for worship online. This notice will appear also on the Facebook page.
The final decision on cancellation of Sunday worship service would be made on Sunday morning prior to 7 am by two local members of Session. If the decision is to close for that Sunday, an email will be sent to members along with a Zoom link for worship. A cancellation notice will appear on our Facebook page.

To our readers and those planning a Sunday visit:

Essentially the same process above applies with the exception that you won’t be receiving Emails.
The best way to check the status of the church temporarily closing will be either on this Website or our Church Facebook page. But don’t be discouraged if you can’t make it on that specific Sunday. Come back and visit us the following Sunday. We will welcome you with open arms.
