Are the cameras on you, even if just in your mind’s eye? Have you given up the simple and quiet satisfaction of God’s company? Take off your mask and honestly dwell with Jesus. Mathew 23:1-12
In answer to the Pharisees question Jesus gives two separate commands: the first and greatest is to love God. The second, which is ‘like’ the first to love neighbor. Jesus gives a nod to Deut. 6 here and Allen Hilton asks: “What is it to love God whole-lifedly?” Or maybe put another way: What if Jesus didn’t give the second command? Matthew 22.34-46
Jesus says in essence here: “Show me the money.” This is no line from the film Jerry McGuire, but rather the implication that money says something…or better, how we use our money says something about where our hearts are. SO, what’s in YOUR wallet? Matthew 22.15-22
