“That YOU May Believe”

Scott Hoezee puts it this way: “I didn’t tell you everything,” John said, “but what I have told you is meant to generate faith in your heart.” In this Eastertide Season, and years beyond that first Easter, the fact that we are here still celebrating Jesus’ victory over death lets us know that when John said he had given us enough, he was exactly right. John 20.19-31

“It All Begins in Darkness”

We are told right up front that the day that came to be called Easter began while it was still dark. ”Easter may lead to the light, but it begins in the darkness. Easter may ultimately be about things that are high, bright, light, and clear, but it begins in things that are low, dim, dark, and murky…” So what? Good question. Scott Hoezee says: “The setting from which the resurrection emerges shapes what the resurrection means (if it means anything to you at all).”   John 20.1-18
